Hi Tom, we have a cabin + acreage on Lower Spirit Lake in Barron County and birding is a hobby of mine. From eBird, I see that you've documented some great birds recently in the Strickland area and also Rice Lake South along the Pokegama Creek Corridor. Could you possibly be more specific about where you were birding in the Rice Lake area? I'd love to try to check out those areas too?
And thanks for all your work to build out the eBird database in this section of NW Wisconsin!!

Hi Tom, I see that you are the top ebirder on the "Cat Islands" WI. I see that that hotspot is considered "restricted access". Do you have to sign up in order to walk onto the property? Does a birder have to have some kind of government clearance? How can one get by the "restricted" aspect and proceed onto the island area to do some birding? Your photos are wonderful, Tom! I was amazed at what you did with a Coolpix. Not only do you have great composition and technique, but you also have a skill at finding birds and getting close. I look foward to seeing more.
