Message from SPIRIT OF THE WILDERNESS
HELLO.... and ....A WARM WELCOME
As a disabled photographer with visual and physical challenges ...... only the furthest horizon and unending sky are my limitations. I spend most of my time on the North Shore of Lk. Superior, NE Minnesota, spring to fall.
So, Let us walk together to share the Magic of Nature and Miracle that is Life; our Passion for Photography. To share creative inspiration through our images and conversations; to explore and learn more, while lending encouragement....
My passion for photography began with a Brownie Camera at age 9, then I was given a Leica 35mm as a gift and sold my first photograph at age 15. Then at age 17, received a gift of an Asahai Pentax 35mm which I used for nearly 35 years when the shutter finally gave up. I started using a Nikon with purchase of a N90 .... now I am still a 35mm photographer using a Nikon F100. I have not quite yet embraced the Digital World. However, I did buy my first digital camera in August of this year ... a Nikon CoolPix 5000. Please feel free to write any hints, tips, tricks, or comments about digital use of the Nikon 5000 or PS post-editing, or any funny ... or not so funny experiences ... They're all welcomed here...
Love Sunsets and Skyscapes; Spring Flowers and Autumn Leaves; Waterfalls, Rippling streams, and tranquil lakes; the smell of Ocean air and the the sound of waves upon shore; the call of Loons in the evening still.
Photography in every way is ART ... its canvas is the wonder and beauty of nature's heartland.
It's palette is the many different facets of color, tones, textures of its wild spaces. Its brush is the infinite strokes of what we see, explore, and interpret with our lens.
My vision is to "expressively" share Nature's wonder and beauty by looking for the uniqueness and artistic essence or "Spirit" of a subject or scene. Expression is purely a blend of originality and vision; a dash of skill; and a sprinkling of understanding the basics about composition, which I feel is 80% of what photography is all about. Mostly photography is serendipitous ... the luck of being in the right place at the right moment ... I'm fascinated with the realm of light in nature and my signature pieces include skyscapes and sunsets, water and reflection.
My philosophy; -- to IMAGINE IS TO DREAM ... to DREAM of PEACE. If even one image brings the smallest smile or a brief moment of serenity to your day; then my passion for photography is sincerely a blessing.
