Message from Sandy Selesky
Hi,

Welcome to my web site. I am mainly a bird and wildlife photographer and former President (now Print Coordinator) of the Nashoba Valley Photo Club in Westford, MA. I have won numerous awards in New England and international competitions including the 2012 "Best of Show" award in the Glennie International Nature Salon. One of my prints, "Piping Plover Baby Love," won a judge's choice gold medal at the New England Camera Club Conference at UMass Amherst, July 2017. In July, 2022 I received the prestigious MNEC honor at this conference (Master Member New England Camera Club Council.) I've had photographs in the following publications: Nature Photographer magazine (including the summer 2007 cover and over 8 articles with images), Nature's Best, Bird Observer, Birder's World, Wildlife Refuge Magazine (including the Fall 2006 cover) and 2 US Fish and Wildlife Service brochures in Massachusetts. My image of a "Young, Wet, Great Horned Owl" was on exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. in spring 2006 along with other chosen winners of the Nature's Best International Photography Awards competition. An article entitled "The Challenges of Warbler Photography was published in the spring issue (2012) of Nature Photographer magazine along with 7 warbler images. Before 2018, the most recent article had been in the Spring 2015 issue: "There's No Place Like Home" along with 6 images plus an additional image in a special section called "Mothers and Babies" In another special section 4 images were published in the Summer 2015 issue called "Mothers,Dad,and Babies." 2 of my images were published in Nature Photographer's "Showcase of Images" section in the summer 2016 issue and published in the fall/winter 2017 issue, and the most recent image published in the spring 2022 issue in the "Showcase of Images." An article with 2 images titled "King Eider" was published in the spring 2018 issue of Nature Photographer magazine along with an image of a moose munching on willows in the Showcase of Images section of that issue. My most recent articles were published in the summer 2022 issue with 5 images titled "Summer Camera Adventures" and the Spring 2024 issue with 9 images titled "A Birding Bonanza: High Island and the Bolivar Peninsula, Texas." A published book of essays co-edited by John Harrison and Kim Nagy, (August, 2015) "Dead in Good Company," includes a photo essay of 15 of my bird images photographed at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. I also have 2 images in the published children's book by John Harrison and Kim Nagy, "Skylar's Great Adventure" about a baby Great Horned Owl that fell out of its nest in a tree surrounding Fresh Pond in Cambridge, MA during the spring of 2018.

I use Canon cameras and Canon and Tamron lenses and do all my own post-processing (most recently with Photoshop CS6) and printing (on an Epson 2880 printer). Any image can be purchased with double mat with or without a frame in sizes 5x7, 8x10, 8x12, or 11x14.

I hope you enjoy my galleries of images. I have 102 different galleries as of summer 2023. Click on any gallery to view its images.
