Sam - I spent a month in the Intag Valley and Mindo areas shooting many many birds including of course the hummers. I am awed by the vast collection of excellent images you have posted here! The fact that you took the time to identify each bird makes you a true hero in my books and I will use your reference here for my next trip down this coming winter.
Superb use of PBase, great galleries and a very interesting read too. Rare on here, for me the photos of birds are of no use unless they are in context. Well done great work.

Hi Sam,
Super Fotos !!!
I am a Hobby-Zoologist from Austria and I work on a list of all bird species (only for myself and personal use). I want to add to all the animals in the list a picture, so I want to ask you, if I am allowed, to copy some pictures from your picture gallery by pbase in my lists - only for private use! I will not create a homepage, I will not sell the photos and I will not publish the photos - I only want to add them to my lists.
I am looking forward to a permission to copy some photos,
Yours faithfully

sam, Its been a real treat, adventure to get lost in High Island in something so splendid! Your method of revealing/opening the wonders of our bird world is better than any rollercoaster ride or anyother kind of entertainment that people can come up with..Thanks! Also, really enjoying all the wonderful pictures, websites, all the enjoyable but tedious hard work...its truly wonderful to see the many sides and varitety of even each type of bird, breathtaking! some of my favorite pics are the blackthroated blue, mourning, cape may, magnolia, bay breasted, american red-start, cerulean, blackburnian...did i leave any out? keep up all your heartwarming, sharing works, for many to enjoy and share too...Oh to never have to end the adventure!

happened along your site looking for Red Titi Monkey. We were in Napo wildlife Centre jan 2007. Really enjoyed it. My photos not quite as good as yours! check out a few at wynwynimages.blogspot.com, Napo (google wynwynimages)
also check out my friend Jorge Cruz at his Hosteria San jorge web site. He is based in Quito and is doing some amazing work for "birding" in Ecuador - especially the Quito region. He is developing some wonderful bird habitat and lodges for guests. (google Hosteria san Jorge", or email me at wyn-wyn@telus.net.
