The time I spent with Cabo Trek was the best part of my life. The most senior member of the team is Phillipp who share his knowledge about marine life in a friendly way. Although one of our members was afraid of sharks and whales, the crew dealt with him in a professional manner.http://cabowhaletrek.com/

Hey, your pictures are amazing! May I know what camera, strobe and underwater housing do you use? Because I am a diver that into photography too. Thanks.

Hey, what happened to the video of you and Suzie? Check out the picture of the two wolf fish on my Facebook. Manatee, my friends feed them from the dock in FL.

Hey Rick. nice video of the unbelieveable Blue Whale. I use to work with you at Cam Data Systems in Fountain Valley. You are now famous. I saw the video and I live in Florida. Do you still work for Cam Data Systems?? Good to see you

I am an owner at Den Laman (Tarpon apartment) so we dive Bari a lot as well as do boat and other shore dives. How in the world do you find these critters? Which sites do you go to most? And how much patience do you need to get any of these shots?
Marty 19-Sep-2009 22:35
Very nice Rick, what kind of camera do you have?

These are really great photographs. I enjoyed reading all the positive comments. By the way, might you be the same Rick Coleman that suffered through the Army's German language school?

Hello Rick, Just happened to look through your photos as I saw you are also an underwater photographer and use a Canon 20D like myself. I really enjoyed looking through your pictures, especially of California as I have never dived in the states. I am living in Okinawa, Japan but will be moving to Monterey in June of next year and was wondering about the diving in this area. I have only been taking pictures for less than a year....but you can check out my website at www.pbase.com/the_underwater_world if you want to take a look. Thanks and maybe see you down under in California! Danielle

Impressive uw work. Good color, composition and sharpness. Many of your photos are really educational in nature. You have good equipment and use it well.

To My Handsome Son and Adorable Daughter-in-Law,
Just viewed all your pictures once again and they are more awesome each time you look at them. Did we tell you that dad loaded his favorite on our desktop? He picked the orange fish amongst the tall tubular brush. (Now aren't those laymen's terms for such an exotic picture?!?) Love you both! Mom

Hi Rick!

Stunning photos! Just loved all the night shots. Great color, etc. etc. Thanks for sharing! Have been diving Bonaire for several years but will take a video camera for the first time over Thanksgiving. No still camera yet. Someday... can you recommend one? I know very little about them. Did Salt Pier for the first time last year (day time) and wondered why we hadn't bothered to get permission before. Wonderful site! Night dive at the Town Pier always a treat as well!

Again, thanks!

Jody

We've just come back from our honeymoon this week and we want to go back already!
Great pictures! Well composed, good colour and subject matter. Have you done anything to them (digital enhancements) or are they "virgin"?
John 26-Aug-2004 15:18
Thanks for the great shots you have shared with us. I thought the Turks and Caicos was excellent for photography but Bonaire puts it to sham. Now I must book a trip for sure.
Rick Coleman08-Aug-2004 05:02
Mauimermaid,

Thanks nice message. Night dives are often good for macro. We did night dives at Salt Pier, Town Pier, Bari, and Andrea II. For our 2 week stay we got in 33 dives. Other favorites include, Fish Hut, Angel City, 1000 Steps, and Tori's Reef. If you don't have it, I’d recommend the book Bonaire Diving Made Easy by Jessie Armacost. It’s available on the island there are places to order it on the internet as well. The problem with most other books is that they are out of date and pre-Lenny. This book is up to date and also provides complete info on each dive site including helpful entry and exit information. Have a great trip!

Terrific shots, thanks for sharing.
Patrice Delaplane07-Aug-2004 05:49
Wow,
love your shots. We are going to Bonaire next month and would love to know at which sites you found these great subjects. Just got back from the Channel Islands, saw some of the same things. I have an MX-10 and a sony digital. I really like your macro ability with the MMII. You also get great depth of field.

Evert,

Thanks for checking out some of my pictures and the nice comments. For underwater pictures I use a Sea and Sea MMIIex with dual strobes and several different lenses which can be interchanged underwater.

BTW, what kind of kit do you use?
Evert Blink13-Jul-2004 18:05
Rick,
I think these are the best under water pics I've ever seen. Absolutely brilliant. I used to dive off the coast in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and now I remember why I went through all the hassle: It's just so stunningly beautiful down below...
Keep up the good work!!!
Gtrz,
Evert
