Hello. I was just looking at your photographs of ravens. Very beautiful.
My cabin in the woods came with a pair of adult ravens who call this plot of land theirs, much to my surprise. They spend a lot of time on the deck and come for food AM and PM. Also have hundreds of photos of the ravens and their offspring. Amazing birds. I learn more each day. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Thank you for sharing your Raven photos! Just ran across your Raven photos while looking for information and pics to study before I paint my own rendition. We have Ravens here in northern Michigan, (Lower Peninsula) but they are quite reclusive and outnumbered by Crows. We do live next to a nature conservancy, which helps.

Recently came across a small wooden Canadian Goose carved by John Blueboy of Moose Factory - probably sometime in the late 60's. I commented on this page before as I had been to Moose Factory with my parents when I was very young. I enjoyed the pictures and will continue to look forward to new ones. I would like to know if members of John Blueboy's family are still in the area? Anyhow, I still enjoy thinking about this childhood journey with my parents whenever I look at the little wooden goose and I appreciate the chance to "revisit" the area through these pictures. Paul,

I just wanted to say thanks for all the great pictures on your site. I'm with the Canadian Forces and are conducting an exercise focusing on the James Bay area communities. I have been able to use many of your photos to analyse and present infomation that would otherwise take days to gather. Thanks alot for putting the effort into the site and all the pictures especially accurate descriptions. Honestly in the event of a real emergency your site would be a key source of information for us.

I was blown over by your pics of Moosonee. Having lived there in the 1960's, a lot of it was foreign to me, everything new/different. Patrick Linklater came here twice and that was incredible. I used to entertain the idea of taking a trip back, but...except the Lord heal me, I have a spinal condition that prevents me from sitting upright or walking. But, I have the fondest memories of Moosonee, and especially the people. Would love to hear from anyone....Desiree;Fort Smith,NWT...Masi!

i really enjoyed looking through all of your photos! i was born and lived in moosonee (1978-1980) while my father was an OPP officer, and because i can't remember living there, it was very nice to see snippets that showed all different facets of the town, including the people! i hope to go back and visit one day!

Hello Paul: WONDERFUL photos of Moosonee! I found your cache of photos via a Google regarding MTL. I've been fascinated by Hudson's and James Bay for years and your display has further increased my interest. I was in Moosonee only once...some years ago. Summer of '09 includes a trip to the other side of the Bay...to Radisson via James Baie Road. May I encourage you to get up a wire for VE3KBL? Your signal would be very popular. Keep up the fine work. 73 de Vince, W1IDL

I love your photos of Charlton! I was there last summer (2008) for the EHS reunion and centennial, and it was really great to drive through Charlton again. All the pics of the power plant and dams bring back a lot of memories as my dad (Dave Minnett) and John Light used to help the people who owned the plant maintain it and lower/raise the logs. Thanks again!

Hi Paul. I came across your website while trying to identify a large black bird I took pics of across by canal. I live in Weeki Wachee, Fl. I saw your awesome picture of Ravens and I think that's what it was. Do you know of any website where I could submit my pics to find out exactly what type of bird this is? Thank you. Sincerely, Linda

Such wonderful photos to discover from so far away (I'm in California)! There is a mystery, for me, among some of these heartwarming photos, but before I delve into that, let me tell you how I found this window into your world, so far away. I was exploring the world via Google maps and found myself exploring the coast of Hudson Bay and discovered Moosonee. Every now and then, I returned to Moosonee, via different links and finally found your site. Thank you for sharing these images with the world community and providing a sense for me of the community there. Now, I am a Sharks fan, so I was astonished to see photos containing Sharks logos and something about a Sharks camp! I am quite mystified as to the connection.

Hey Paul, it has been a while. You might remember me. I worked for Two Bay in the Freight Department from 1982 to 1988. I was also involved in the Pentecostal Church around that time as well. I am living in North Bay and working for the ONR at present.
Moosonee was good to me and I miss many people from that time. Bish and Carol were great people to work for. Thanks for the pictures and the memories. John Wagner

Hi,Everyone! Just to let you all know that I had such a wonderful time in Moosonee in such a long time. It was so nice & emotional to see everyone's faces that I got to see.
Even my daughter Jessica really enjoyed herself. Also, I would like to express my thanks to Paul for all the picture memories he has taken. Keep up the good work! Keep sticking
around in James Bay Area & keep us posted as we would like to keep up with the news. I do
miss my hometown Moosonee. I've always missed & loved the people. Just to let you know, I'm proud of myself in what I'm doing now. I have a wonderful common-law husband Joe for 18 years & 2 wonderful beautiful daughters Josie age 13 & Jessie 21. They both love & get along each other. I speak for Ontario on Birth,Death & Marriage Certificates, Amendments & Change of Names. I am an operator all day long answering all people's problems & status for their applications from all over the world. I love my Job in what I do. Before interviews, only 450 resumes were accepted than I had to go through 3 interviews & finally after all that only 50 out of 150 of us got the job. It's very challenging and I have lots of full esteem. Thanks to my big sister Hannah to tell me to smarten up & to tell me to stick around in Thunder Bay and found myself something for myself better to do & end up finding my very good Italian man I've always wanted to meet. He taught me how to cook Italian & Gardening.I have learned lots. Allelujiah!
God Bless You All & I am very sorry I never got to say Hi & Good-bye to the one's I've missed. PS, PHEMI SUTHERLAND, I saw you at the train station that evening when we left. I did not expect you to be there. Just to let you know, I'm sorry I did not see you & I love you. Whoever reads this message for Phemi, please pass this message on to her.
I would very appreciate it! Good Night & Take Care Everyone!
& your family like always!

Good morning from Thunder Bay, Paul. Woke up early this morning (the kids were still sleeping soundly) and decided to check out a few sites in Moosonee. Believe it or not but I still miss the sites and sounds of Moosonee, as there is no other place like it. Looked up the photos of the Sutherland/Gourley wedding in August/2005 and thought you did a terrific job of photograghing it. You captured the whole essence of a beautiful wedding and the people involved in the whole event. Well done!!!!

Hello Paul,
It was such a nice adventure to see all your photos. I had the privilege of being the Welfare Officer for the Ontario Dept of Public Welfare for the full year of 1967, and stationed in Moosonee. For three months I also had the office out of Cochrane. Living and working with the Cree in Moosonee and visiting up the coast of James Bay was such a challenge and a wonderul part of my life, when I was single. I am now 63, married for 30 years and have four children and five grandchildren. I also have some very interesting pictures of Moosonee in 1967. In fact I am still in contact with a very good friend, Alexandra Kataquapit and her family. My wife, Esther, and I send our very best Christmas wishes from Truro, Nova Scotia.

Paul, I will let you in on a secret regarding the eyes. Now no telling others. When I apply all the layers that I do to these, I go back and erase down to the original layer so the eyes come out untouched. You may do that when you soften a portrait, as well: put a layer on top in Gausian blur but erase the layer on the eyes and perhaps the lips and teeth then merge down. It is magic. That is precisely what I did on thishttp://www.pbase.com/neovolatile/image/43675130 Okay, go you and do likewise. *G* Thanks for stopping by. Regards, Ellsworth
