Hi Paula.
Your photo is amazing. I want to ask you something .
This is my first spring migrating and I would like to come to
Monticello Park, Alexandria, VA
I am from Harrisonburg VA and I would be grateful if you can tell me what part of Monticello park is the best to see warblers!
Thank you.

Stumbled across your photos while looking for pictures of Monticello Park in our neighborhood. Truly amazing shots -- especially of the Pkwy eagles! Thank you for sharing them.

Paula,

You have some great interactions and encounters with wildlife. It was a real treat talking with you this morning.

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and I'm sure I'll see you around the park.

Take care,

Matt

Paula, I'm back with a P.S. for that boozy guy with whom you hang out. He doesn't have a similar space for visitors to share their reactions. Please tell him a review of that blog has finally given me an answer to his fascination with bottles of beer and booze. But also tell him it was outstanding and has pretty much convinced me to follow his (and your) good examples. And to the both of you goes extra thanks for your wonderful Christmas card w/out which I would have never known the good work you both do. A great Christmas and happy 2011 to both of you.

George...again on 12/21/10

Dear Paula,

Your photos are wonderful. I've been watching a Red-Taild Haw in Fort Ward Park in Alexandria for the last eight months. Have you seen this neighbor or taken photos of it?

Thanks for sharing.

Paula

A few days ago I took a ride down the Mount Vernon Trail to check out the nest along the MVT. It was indeed another bald eagle nest, with one of the eagles perched close by.

Excellent photos.

I spotted some photographers on the river side of the GWP near the Morningside turnoff. They were looking up into the trees between the WVT and the river. They were looking at an enormous nest. Coudl this be another bald eagle nest?

Love your pictures. My cousin who lives near by and runs by a Eagles nest sent your website to me. I took pitures of big birds my self last year. The pitures were of two eggs and then baby buzzars until they grew up and flew off. They were raise in my family barn on our farm. During deer hunting season I saw one of the young birds in a tree before it headed south for the winter. I took a long shot picture of it with my cell phone. HA The bird was about 100 or so yards away. I used my small binoculars I had with me at the time and match the two up. How lucky I was with a cool looking picture, even when it wasn't of the best quality. As I said; I like your bird pictures very much and pass this site on to others. Bob Bishop Missouri

Paula: Awesome photos. The Barn Swallows are really super. I really enjoyed meeting you this AM at Ben Brenman Park, thank you for sharing the location of the Green Herons. I enjoyed talking with you.

Paula - loved your pictures, especially of the Coopers hawks. Terrfic photos, even when the weather was uncooperative. Do take us up on our invitaton to visit our backyard (next to Tyes). We have a fairly decent shot of the Coopers' new nest--at least until the new foliage intervenes. Lyn

Dear Paula,
I am interested in learning more about digiscopy having recently purchased a scope. Saw a notice at FODM Dyke Marsh walk. Are you planning on being a guest speaker at a local bird club any time soon? Please let me know.

thanks

Nice shots, Paula. I stumbled upon them while reading an article in an English-French magazine called "Vocable". (trying to improve my English through it !) . It is about "falcons flocking to urban perches"... close to Woodrow Wilson Bridge. I don't actually saw falcons on your website, but Bald Eagles were there.
Thank you.

Dear Miss Sullivan:
My son showed me the article (Stamford, Connecticut Advocate) about the Peregrine falcon.
Last spring my husband spotted a Peregrine Falcon in our back yard. I took a picture of it but it didn't come out clearly. (i used a one-shot camera)

I saw the article in the Post about the nesting Peregrines which mentioned your photos. So I went to look at them and I must say that I am very impressed. Thanks for posting so many great photos on the internet.

This is such a wonderful gallery. I particularly enjoyed the photos from Garrett County. That place is heaven on earth in my opinion.

Hey Paula,

It was really cool to meet a fellow birder and photo enthusiast, especially at such a wonderful site as the marsh. I am extremely impressed with all the locales you have documented and visited in the Washington area. I had not become interested in wildlife photography really until about 2 years ago after taking my ornithology and mammology classes at Tech. Until I visited your site I had absolutely no idea that there really was much else in the Washington area besides the GW parkway area and the Marsh.
The next time I am up in the area I certainly make it priority to check out some of the wonderful places you have been to! I really love your blue-gray gnatcatcher in the nest. That a real find, locating such a small nest let alone getting those shots! Love your shorebirds also, and the osprey! They really make me wish I were visiting the outer banks for a weekend. Ospreys are probably my favorite raptors. My friend and I actually got to see them fairly up close a couple hours after we met. There were 3 of them that flew relatively low overhead, and one had a fished grasped in his claws facing into the wind.
You haven't happened to have attended the spring bird count that goes on along the Outer banks (mainly Nags Head and Pea Island) usually around March-April? I have attended the last 2 years with the VA Tech ornithology class and it really is an amazing trip. If you have been along, we have probably been in very close proximity before :)
Anyway, I really enjoyed meeting you Paula, and am very glad I got to check out your galleries they are really awesome, you have put quite a bit of time and effort into your photography and that is fantastic. Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate them. Your gallery is already book marked and I will certainly be checking back to see where and what you have been up to!

Paula,

Yes, I did get caught up on your photo posts. Very nice, indeed. I esp enjoyed the GH OWL, Avocet, B&W, and Virginia Rail Photos. One of these days Im going to have to post some of my pictures in a forum of this kind. Meanwhile, I'll just check your site from time to time, the river, HM, M, O, L, PWF, Susquehanna, and the coast. Nothing shabby about the venues you get to, LOL! And, I'm glad to be able to get out to some of them with you. Keep up the good work.
