Bruce, I think I shot this a little after 9pm local time on 13 Jan 2006. As to possibilities for shooting videos, I'm not that knowledgeable about how the moon can be shot. Best to check a moon phase chart (likehttp://stardate.org/nightsky/moon/).

Just wondering what time you took this photo of the moon over the desert? I am going to be video filming in the Sonoran desert and hope to catch the full moon just before sunrise and also during sunrise. Do you think that is possible?
