Hi Mark! From The Netherlands a short message of appreciation of your photos on your website!
You may find my website also interesting: www.markeisingbirding.com.
I am basically taking photos of any animal (not just birds) and I have categorized by type of animal and country for better overview. Enjoy and keep up the good work!

Hi Mark,

Nice pictures, what do you shoot with, do you have any tips or tricks for a fellow nature/wildlife photographer?

Hi Mark I noticed you take a lot of insect pictures. I am the membership director for the Peoria Camera Club and every year we hold an international insect salon for PSA and get entries from all over the world. I think your images would do well. You can find all the information on the clubs web sight [peoriacameraclub.com] an look under club competitions and select the insect salon button. Right now it has the info for last year but it will be updated this spring when the dates are firmed up. just thought might be interested.

I'm trying to identify a moth with iridescent blue body with small white dots & muddy red wings with brown borders; its has long fan antennae. here's 2 images I collected https://www.flickr.com/photos/30089437@N05/9762344855/in/dateposted-public/https://www.flickr.com/photos/30089437@N05/9761001615/in/dateposted-public/

Please help me id the beetle I saw today. I was sitting in an exam room at my veterinarian's office and it crawled across the floor. The vet thought it was a firefly (inside in broad daylight? I doubt it). My first thought was it was bigger than a firefly. I wanted to get a photo but the vet whisked it away with a paper towel and took it outside. I'm not too familiar with the body parts of bugs, but will try to describe it: Longish like a firefly, but larger. Black w/distinctly copper colored front body parts - the head and pinscherlike antennae were definitely bright copper, and the body was blackish. Pinchers had a distinctive shape, like the smile on a smiley face or a crescent moon. I cannot find a picture of this on any website.

Thank you very much, Mark, for allowing me to link to your galleries on our community at Megashot.net. Your photography and documentary of the insects is exemplary.

I have found a peculiar type of moth which looks very similar to a bold feathered grass moth but I can't be certain as the colours do not match.... Could I send you a photo...??
