Hi Brad,

I forgot about this site...

Yep, I was on the 929 and stayed with the guy from the GW. I couldn't do much else 'cause my leg was hurting.

I agree - I think they'd have died if you and the others hadn't stopped. I still can't believe what a hero you were to jump in the river and pull him to shore. I remember you found him floating face down. His helmet had been smashed in. He was unconscious but breathing. One or both of his legs were broken. Those were the obvious items. Turned out that they both had broken pelvis, I think both legs broken, one had one broken arm and the other had two broken arms. At least, that's my recollection.

I haven't been back on a bike since, not 'cause I don't want to or am afraid - I just haven't got another one since then.

Thanks again for everything you did that day. Sorry you weren't thanked by those two. I know there was a lot of help given them, such as relocating them to a different apartment.

You can email me at: randy@ramwaresoftware.com if you want a faster response.

Hey Randy,

Sorry for not seeing this sooner, I rarely check this part of the pbase site. The GoldWing corner is where a friend and I pulled a couple out of the Clackamas after their yellow goldwing sailed off. Were you the rider on the 929? If so, you helped me with the husband once I pulled him to shore.

I haven't heard anything from them - ever. We visited the wife in the hospital several times, but never heard anything. Pretty lousy - considering they both probably would've died if we didn't stop.

Thanks for checking it out - I'll check back to see if you get this message.

Brad

Hi Brad -

What can you tell me about "Goldwing Corner"? Is that where a yellow Goldwing went into the river in 2001? If so, I was the other rider who crashed that same day. Can you tell me any info about how the Goldwing folks are doing?
