We were on the way to the viewpoint at Monument Valley. The horse had gotten separated from the others, and had come up beside the road through a broken fence. I understand that there is a drought going on this year in that part of the world, and that feral horses are dying because of this. I do not know if this horse is owned by somebody, but the presence of the fence suggests that that could have been the case.
