Hi Karl,
your pics from Yosemite May 2002 are really great!
They make me consider the same equipment.
Is it really only a 3MP D30 ?
With a Tokina AT-X 24-200 ?
Quite cheapish from todays point of view.
I'm considering a D30 right now.
Having Tokina AT-X lenses for my analog gear and loving the build quality of them I always had complains about optical quality in mind.
I really had one bad copy of AT-X 80-200 esp. bad AF.
I'm using a 2.6-2.8/28-70 since last week - so I have no results right now.
The 24-200 (giving 38 - 320 on D30) is a much better all-in-one solution than all those 28-lenses (giving only 43mm on the short end).
That's my main complain about most dslr : Problems to get a real wide angle !
But you seem to manage things very good !
Some guy here supposed you used a Canon 1D(s) for the Yosemite shots thus giving more MP and wider angle !
Right or wrong ?
Kind regards
Paul

Hi Karl,
Was browsing the start of your fungi photos at Huddart - as usual, superb. However, what you labelled 'chanterelle' is really jack o'lantern, omphalotus olivascens. It has real gills, not folds as chanterelles. I was at Huddart about a week after you and saw that very cluster. Also the 'ragged edged' mushroom is probably macrolepiota rachodes, although there is at least one look-alike to that. Thank you for sharing all these.
