Message from Greg Gillson
Welcome to my photo pages. My interest has slowly evolved from watching birds to photographing them. I started digiscoping in 2002 and changed to digital SLR (Canon Digital Rebel and 100-400mm IS lens) in fall 2006. Until recently the artistic merit of my photos has taken a back seat to close, sharply-focused, frame-filling shots.
Many people ask to use my photos for a variety of projects. Permission will likely be granted for most uses. Please ask first. Use of photos as a reference for drawings or paintings is hereby given blanket permission. I have not been charging for my photo use thus far, but wouldn't mind small fees to pay for my online photo storage and Internet "habit."
My photos have appeared in slide shows for birding classes and presentations, a couple of books, magazine articles, newspapers, newsletters, checklists, nature center and wildlife refuge signage, museum exhibits, tourism brochures, personal web sites, and more.
Two main features is a photo checklist of Oregon birds and photos obtained at-sea on birding "pelagic trips."
