Welcome to my photo page. I am an avid bird watcher and outdoorsman from western Wisconsin in the United States and I also enjoy photography. I have combined my interests and I have been taking pictures of birds and other wildlife since 2004.

Although my primary interest is birds, I do enjoy shooting pictures of all types of Flora and Fauna as well as neat objects and scenery. Recently, I have become much more interested in Dragonflies, Damselflies, and Butterflies. Please check out my pictures of those creatures in the Insects album. They make fascinating subjects for photography.

Due to continued habitat loss, the populations of many species of birds are falling. I hope that by sharing the beauty of the natural world, I can encourage people to enjoy the world around them and perhaps take a more proactive role in protecting it.

My early bird pictures were taken via a process called digiscoping. I shot my pictures with a Nikon Coolpix 4500 that I held up to my Kowa TSN-824 spotting scope. Starting in December, 2008, I upgraded my equipment and I am now shooting a Canon EOS 50D digital SLR camera with a Canon ESM 100-400 mm IS lens.

I do most of my birding and other outdoor activity in the upper mid-west in the USA (Wisconsin and Minnesota), but I take advantage of opportunities to bird and photograph in other areas when chances to travel present themselves.

This site is still a work in progress and I simply haven't had time to load all of the pictures that I want to show here. I am working on that.....

I try to post pictures at 1028 x 768 resolution. For best viewing results, use the ORIGINAL size option. The pictures will still fit on your screen and you will see all of the detail.
