Message from Ed Barna
All my galleries are open to future additions, deletions and corrections. As the French poet Paul Valery is said to have put it, "A poem is never finished, only abandoned."ESPECIALLY, IF YOU SEE ANY IMAGE THAT YOU DON'T WANT POSTED, FOR ANY PERSONAL REASON, PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY AT gotobarn@comcast.net SO I CAN REMOVE IT.
Mainly, these collections are meant to share Vermont, the state in which I was born, grew up, helped to raise my son, and have become known as a journalist, photographer and poet. Vermont has combined hatural beauty with historic integrity to create a peaceable but vigorous community life, of a kind that is growing harder and harder to find. I have benefited greatly therefrom, and now wish to give back. Likewise, the state's wild environs have grounded me in the Classics--the truly ancient classics of Earth, Water, Wind and Fire--and now, as my failing years begin, I will do all I still can to preserve and protect and celebrate them.
Photography seems to run in the family, along with a talent for languages. Brother Joseph Barna is a leading Pride photographer in New York City, as well as an independent documentarian of American life. Double cousin Dennis Barna (father's brother, mother's sister) may have taken photography the furthest of any of us Hungarian members of the Brown clan, though his abstract painting may have overshadowed the more representational work. I will try to convince these Venn-diagram-nervenet-overlapping synchronicitydwellers to let me post guest galleries of their works.
Also, I am deeply grateful to and continually inspirred by many of the astonishingly talented and generous pBase photographers, with whom this medically challenged non-traveler has roamed the world. And my thanks to the developers of the pBase site, which excels in the simplicity and transparecy of its operations as well as the quality of the work represented.
Plans are to share the poetry via a personal website at www.freekittenspoetry.com. There should be information there about the copyediting work that accounts for my handle copyeEDditor as well.
