Message from Jim Yolda
I love photography! Having sustained the passion, enthusiasm, and interest for it over the past several decades, I feel this continuous urge to take pictures (make images, record scenes, capture moments - however you would like to describe the process). Whether it's the beauty of nature, a family activity, aspects from travel or work, friends, or simply life's ongoing display, I have and continue to raise my camera and release the shutter. That fractional second of light exposure I have allowed onto my film plane (and now my sensor surface!) has resulted in an image hundreds of times over. Those instants, frozen in time, have provided much satisfaction and enjoyment from the time I first see the developed results (and now immediately on my LCD!) to providing perhaps even more enjoyment when I view them ten, twenty, thirty years later. As the years go by, they invoke the nostalgia of the past as I recall the circumstances and events under which they were taken and what I was doing in my life at that time. "Call me sentimental" but that is the effect photography has on me!
