In 1903, the hotel was moved by scow from Lemon City to NE 6th St. between 1st and 2nd avenues, opposite the Florida East Coast railway station that was located on NE 6th St. between 2nd Avenue and Biscayne Blvd. At that time the hotel was owned by Mr. & Mrs. Daniel M. Conolly, my great-grandparents.

I know this hotel was in downtown Miami in 1965 because I lived there, they called me the "Baby of Bayview" because I was only 19 years old and most everyone else were senior citizens.

I still maintain it was in downtown Miami, across from the location of the Miami-Dade College downtown campus. Refer to the other picture as I think this is correct...

I believe it's original location was in Lemon City (present day Little Haiti) on the bay.

By the 1950's the Bay View had a stucco exterior, and was located right across the street from where the Miami-Dade Community College downtown campus was built.

A photo taken by the late Ernie Skog showed this, and the negative is now part of [historian] Seth Bramson's permanent collection.
